Rev. Fr. Christopher T. Metropulos to be Installed as the 21st President of HCHC

Installation Ceremony on Thursday, October 29th

BROOKLINE, Mass. – His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology (HCHC) will install the Rev. Fr. Christopher T. Metropulos as the 21st President of HCHC on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 2:00 pm in the Pappas Gymnasium. The event will be streamed live at hchc.edu.

“It is a distinct honor for me to assume the position of President of this sacred school,” said Fr. Metropulos. “I am in awe of the commitment of the administration, faculty, staff and students to Christ, and embrace the true potential of HCHC, nurturing the next generation of leaders in Brookline, Boston, communities throughout the United States and world.”

Prior to his appointment as President, Fr. Metropulos was the presiding pastor at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where he served for 25 years.  Fr. Metropulos has also represented the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America at the United Nations and United States Missions.

Fr. Metropulos holds a B.A. from Hellenic College, a Masters of Divinity from Holy Cross and a D.Min. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He is the founder of the Orthodox Christian Network (myocn.net).

“It is my goal to expand the physical and virtual infrastructure of our school, increasing student enrollment both within our gates and throughout the world through continued education of the clergy and online learning for the faithful,” said Fr. Metropulos.  “All are welcome.  And, to those graduated, welcome home.”

HCHC is the only accredited Orthodox Christian College in North America and serves as the Theological School and Seminary of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Since its inception in 1937, it has been committed to being the intellectual, educational and spiritual center of the Orthodox Church in North America, developing and increasing ordained and lay vocations to the Church and community.
