Release of New Archdiocesan Logo Schedule for January 2003

New York, NY – The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America has announced that a new logo for the Archdiocese will be released in January 2003. The new logo, which has been in design for well over one year, is needed both to reflect the change in the structure of the Archdiocese, formerly of North and South America, and to represent the continuity and progress that characterizes the work and ministry of the Greek Orthodox Church in America.

This is the seventh logo used by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in its eighty year history. An article concerning the history of the logos and the implementation of the new logo will be included in the January 2003 issue of the Orthodox Observer.

When the new logo is officially launched, each metropolis, parish, institution, and organization of the Archdiocese will be issued official guidelines on the use and presentation of the logo together with a CD of camera-ready templates for the production of stationery, other printed material, and electronic media. The guidelines and templates will assist with proper and consistent usage throughout the Archdiocese, offering a unified presentation and consistent appearance on related materials. Following the official launch of the logo, each metropolis, parish, and institution will receive a new Archdiocesan flag.

The new logo will have its official debut on the cover of the 2003 Yearbook of the Archdiocese. The Yearbook will be available January 2. This release is sent out in advance of the launch to inform all levels of the Archdiocese of the new logo and to assist with planning for the coming year.
