Northern New Jersey Forgiveness Vespers

On Sunday, February 26, 2023, with the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, His Grace Bishop Apostolos of Medeia celebrated the Great Hierarchal Forgiveness Vespers at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway, New Jersey, to mark the start of the Holy and Great Lent. Participating in the service were the Clergy of the Northern New Jersey Region of the sacred Metropolis of New Jersey. His Grace conveyed the paternal blessings and well wishes of the Archbishop and expressed his prayers for all in attendance to have a most spiritually edifying Great Lent. The Chancellor, the V. Rev. Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Christoforos Oikonomidis offered the Homily, reinforcing the importance of forgiveness in preparation for our Lenten journey.  At the conclusion of the Service His Grace, the clergy, and all the faithful, greeted each other in the spirit of love and forgiveness. Following the service, a Lenten meal was offered for all in attendance in the parish community center.
