“When you value your roots, you recognize a fundamental and important part of your identity. Your roots shape your beliefs, ideas and values. Gradually, these components become more and more significant as you walk through life, engage with others and build your individuality. Our Greek heritage is something that is inculcated in the mind and hearts of all Greek Americans. No matter where we have grown up around the world, our cultural roots are deeply engrained and travel with us. Roots are significant for the Greek American community in the United States. They connect us, teach us, empower us, and unite us. Our roots remind us of the past, while carrying us forward into the future” said the Director, Anastasios Koularmanis.
“OI RIZES MOU” honors important Greek values, traditions, morals and customs that embody Hellenism. The book is a wonderful resource for parents and teachers who want to help explain the Greek culture to young children. For those who did not live the Greek culture, here is a good opportunity to read up about religious and family celebrations. It is a book rich in value and culture and should be a staple of every family’s library.
