Archdiocesan District Parochial Schools Visit Archbishop Elpidophoros at Archdiocese

On Friday, February 10, 2023, students from the Archdiocesan District’s parochial schools visited the Archdiocese and met with His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros for a celebration of International Greek Language Day.

Students from St. Demetrios Preparatory School (Astoria), Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Day School (Brooklyn), and the Cathedral School (Manhattan) recited poems and presented artwork commemorating the occasion. They were accompanied by their parents and their teachers, among them Ms. Angeliki Tsementzi (St. Demetrios), Ms. Eleni Karageorgiou and Ms. Katerina Bliatza (Holy Cross), and Ms. Athanasia Phillou and Ms. Katerina Tsaroucha (Cathedral School).

Department of Greek Education Director Mr. Anastasios Koularmanis and President of the Federation of Greek Teachers of America Mrs. Stella Kokolis attended the event. Archdiocecesan Chancellor Rev. Protopresbyter Nektarios Papazafiropoulos and Archdiocesan District Chancellor Rev. Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Elias Villis also attended.
