District Greek Language Programs Receive New Tech Devices and Software from the Office of Greek Education

The Office of Greek Education of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, with the generosity of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, was able to purchase Chromebooks, projectors, and Interactive Panels for the District Language programs. In addition, funding was made available for the purchase of Ellinopoula an online Greek language program, which is geared towards helping students learn the Greek language.

Over $100,000 worth of technology devices and software was distributed to the parishes that showed interest and requested this assistance. The Director of Greek Education Anastasios Koularmanis believes that technology is vital to the growth and sustainability of our language programs.

As it is recognized that Technology played an essential role in delivering education, especially highlighted by the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the Office of Greek Education created this program to make it easier for schools to acquire the necessary equipment their teachers desperately need. With the possibilities of continued remote and hybrid learning in many parishes, the need for current technology is top priority.

This program could not have been possible without the support and guidance of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros.  His commitment to our school and programs is evident through the new programs, workshops, and support given during these past several years.

The Office of Greek Education recognizes the unprecedented challenges being faced at this time, and they remain committed to supporting each and every parish of the Archdiocese.
