Religious Leaders to Reflect on Freedom for Bicentennial of the Greek Revolution
“Faith in Freedom” Video Series
What does it mean to be free? From experience to theory – and from a lack thereof to the fight for its realization – freedom is a central and crucial principle for most, if not all, religions. How does each religion understand freedom and the notion of being free?
In honor of the 200th year anniversary of Greek independence, the Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations, is launching a monthly video series featuring the voices of various religious leaders speaking about the meaning of freedom in their faith tradition.
These five-minute videos will air the 25th of each month, from March 25th to October 25th and will be available through the Orthodox Observer, the Department’s Facebook page, and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese’s YouTube channel.
