ENTHRONEMENT OF ARCHBISHOP ELPIDOPHOROS OF AMERICA TO BE HELD JUNE 22, 2019
NEW YORK – Greek Orthodox Christians are expected to fill East 74th Street when the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America will enthrone a new Archbishop of America on Saturday, June 22, 2019 beginning at 11am at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City.
Archbishop Elpidophoros will become the seventh Greek Orthodox spiritual leader of the more than 1.5 million faithful of the Archdiocese in America.
Many U.S. elected officials, foreign government representatives and religious leaders from around the world are expected to attend, including the Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex M. Azar II who will represent President Trump and speak during the service.
