NEW YORK – The Department of Greek Education is organizing an educational training seminar on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m at the St. Demetrios Greek-American Day School in Astoria, NY.
This year’s seminar is intended for all teachers of Greek language, history and culture in Greek-American day, afternoon and Saturday schools of the Archdiocese, as well as Charters and private schools.
The seminar will present a demo lesson using modern practices from the series of books, Ta Ellinika mou.
Education specialists from Cyprus and Greece will present up-to-date methods on teaching Greek as a second language.
Given the importance of the presentations, in addition to teachers, school board members, PTA members, parents and others are also welcome to attend.
The seminar, organized by the Department of Greek Education under the auspices and blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America, will include participation by the Greek American Teachers Federation.
