Christmas Time Is Here: District Day School Students Sing Carols at the Archdiocese
The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese hosted a special group of carolers today: parochial day school students from across the District, including the Cathedral School of Holy Trinity (Manhattan), A. Fantis School of Sts. Constantine and Helen Cathedral (Brooklyn), St. Demetrios Greek American Day School (Astoria), and the Greek America Institute (Bronx). Students had the opportunity to meet with His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros, as well as classmates from different boroughs receiving the same unique Orthodox education. Students were accompanied by the Director of the Archdiocesan Children's Choir Mr. Theodore Alvanos, as well as their school administrators and teachers.
After their performance, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros expressed his love and joy to the children and gifted them each a Christmas ornament, wishing them and their families a blessed Christmas season.
The Honorable Consul General of Greece in New York, Mr. Konstantinos Konstantinou attended the presentation, as well as Mr. Anastasios Koularmanis, the Director of the Archdiocesan Department of Greek Education, Rev. Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Gregory Stamkopoulos, the Vice-Director, and Ms. Athina Filippou-Katehis, the Associate Director of the Department of Greek Education for the Archdiocesan District.
Also in attendance were Chancellor of the Archdiocese V. Rev. Archimandrite Nektarios Papazafiropoulos, Chancellor of the Archdiocesan District Rev. Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Elias Villis, and Rev. Protopresbyters of the Ecumenical Throne Evagoras Constantinidis and Panagiotis Papazafiropoulos.
