Connecticut Parish to Hold Event Honoring Ecumencial Patriarch’s Anniversary

ORANGE, Conn. – St. Barbara Church, AHEPA Chapter 98, The Hellenic Bar Association of Connecticut, and Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, are sponsoring and supporting an educational forum and lecture, in essence, a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s enthronement.

The event will take place Feb. 15, 7 p.m. at the social and educational building of St. Barbara’s, 480 Racebrook Road in Orange.

Presenters will include Professor George Demacopoulos of Fordham University and Nik Mathews, both Archons. Dr. Demacopoulos also is the Archons historian and Mathews is regional commander of District 1.

He will touch upon the aspects of the Denial of Religious Freedom under which His All-Holiness labors, and Professor Demacopoulos will be the primary presenter, sharing His All-Holiness’s significant accomplishments during this quarter-century of Orthodox leadership.

The recent autobiography celebrating this 25 year period, Twenty- Five Years of Guiding the Christians Bartholomew - Apostle and Visionary, by Father John Chryssavgis, will also be reviewed at this event.

This educational lecture will also include a question and answer period.
