Church Musician's Zoom Webinars

If you’re like many and are wondering what church musicians can do during the COVID-19 crisis, these two Zoom Webinars coming up from the National Forum of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians may be of interest to you. Both will feature many practical suggestions!

1.     “COVID-10 and CHURCH MUSIC in the PARISHES”
Friday, September 11th from 3:00 - 4:30 pm EDT

This Zoom Webinar will feature updates on the newest research about singing during the pandemic along with specific implications for parish music programs. More importantly, the workshop will highlight promising decision-making pathways that parish church musicians can use to help plan for the eventual safe return of both chanters and choirs to our services pending authorization from their state and local authorities and the directives of their Metropolitans. Practical ideas for coping and transitioning to singing will be shared. This webinar would be of interest to clergy, choir members, chanter, youth choir directors, Church School hymnology teachers, and other parish leaders involved in COVID planning.

2.    “Tips and Tricks for Vocalizing During COVID-19”
Monday, September 14th from 3:00 – 4:30 pm

This will be an innovative Zoom Webinar featuring practical suggestions from ten of our professional vocal technicians about ways to keep your voice in shape either while you’re at home and when you return to singing and chanting in church. Each presenter is challenged with providing you with a 5-minute, easy to use tip to maintain and improve your singing abilities while you are not singing in a group! This webinar would be of interest to choir members, chanters, and clergy focused on vocal health during the pandemic.

If you are interested, please mark your calendars to save the dates and times. Specific registration information will be sent to you in early September. These webinars are free and will also be recorded and placed on the National Forum’s website.
