The more that children and eventually adults become comfortable, confession will be seen for what it really is because it is a healing and hopeful sacrament. It is not a shaming sacrament, so by beginning that process very young it becomes so much each easier when life becomes more complicated, that a child or an adult would feel comfortable knowing I want to go to this sacrament and receive God’s grace and healing and wholeness.
