Archons Receive AHEPA Medal of Freedom -- Cited for Support of Ecumenical Patriarchate

New York, NY- The Order of St. Andrew was honored with the AHEPA MEDAL of FREEDOM on July 31 at the Grand Banquet of the 81st Annual Convention of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) held in Phoenix, AZ.

National Commander of the Order Dr. Anthony Limberakis received the award on behalf of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in America from Dr. James Dimitriou, Supreme President of the Order of AHEPA.

Acknowledging the significance of the Award Dr. Limberakis stated, &qout;The Order of St.Andrew is deeply honored to receive the AHEPA MEDAL OF FREEDOM. It is an honor that acknowledges the sacred mission of the Archons to protect and defend the Holy Mother Church and to strengthen the ties of the Church in America and the Ecumenical Patriarchate. As Archons, we look forward to working together with AHEPA, side by side, to serve as 'Defenders of the Faith' seeking religious freedom and the vitality of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.&qout;

The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle is the U.S. organization of Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, an international group of church laymen recognized for outstanding service, dedication and loyalty to the Church. The primary mission of the Order is to promote and defend the Holy Mother Church of Constantinople, the Ecumenical Patriarchate. There are more than 800 current members of the Order in America.
