Archbishop Elpidophoros’s Visit to Greece Continues

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America continues a successful visit to Greece.

On July 12, His Eminence served as the Keynote Speaker at the Athens College Commencement Ceremony, and on July 13, he met with His Eminence Archbishop Ieronymos II of Athens.

Tomorrow, July 15, Archbishop Elpidophoros will meet with Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. George Gerapetritis. On Sunday, July 16, His Eminence will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas (Ναό του Αγίου Νικολάου Πτωχοκομείου), which the Archdiocese of Athens has granted to the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Next week, the Archbishop of America will make his first visit to Ionian Village, the official camping ministry of the Greek Archdiocese, open to Greek Orthodox young people in the U.S. every summer. Here, His Eminence will welcome the US Ambassador to Greece, Mr. George Tsunis, who himself spent two summers at Ionian Village as a teenager.

On Sunday, July 23, His Eminence will travel to the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
