New York – His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America announced four new appointments and assignments at the Archdiocese to coincide with the commencement of the new Ecclesiastical year. These individuals bring both their experience and passion to the Archdiocese and will contribute to the overall mission of promoting the message of the Gospel throughout the Archdiocese.
The new positions are:
- Mrs. Elaine Allen, Treasurer of the Archdiocesan Council, who will donate her time and expertise in the administration of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America,
- The Rev. Presbyter Panagiotis Papazafiropoulos as the Chief of Staff to the Archbishop, while continuing to serve as Assistant Chancellor,
- The Rev. Presbyter Eleftherios Constantine as Director of the Archbishop’s Office, and
- Archdeacon Dionysios Papiris as Archdeacon of the Archdiocese, who most recently served as Archdeacon of the Metropolis of Boston.
In addition, His Eminence personally thanked Mrs. Alice Keurian, the former Director of the Archbishop’s Office, for her many years of service and dedication to the Archdiocese. Mrs. Keurian became a fixture of the Archdiocese and was well-known to many of the faithful as she oversaw the operations of the Office of the Archbishop. Specifically, during this past year, Mrs. Keurian worked to ensure that the transitioning of staff would be effortless so as to not disrupt the work of the Archbishop’s Office.
His Eminence remarked, “The rich history of the Archdiocese is being written every day. We thank all those who have served and have sacrificed for this beloved institution over the years, and at the same time, we pray for wisdom and strength for those who are taking up new roles. This group of exceptionally talented people will help us further instill a renewed level of confidence for the faithful of the Archdiocese. We are confident that these leaders will work ceaselessly for the building up of the Body of the living Christ in this blessed Nation, always striving to reach new heights. I thank God for their service and look forward to our sacred work together.”
