Archbishop Demetrios Attends White House Holiday Dinner

New York - Invited by President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, Archbishop Demetrios of America attended a Holiday Dinner on Friday, November 30 in the State Dining Room of the White House. While dining at the President’s table, the Archbishop enjoyed an evening of warm and elegant celebration for the President and First Lady’s closest friends and family.

This invitation was one more indication of the valued friendship and respect that the President has for Archbishop Demetrios whom he calls “a man of prayer, vision, and great wisdom.”

During the meal and throughout the evening, the 150 guests were entertained with Christmas Carols sung by a military choir and a piano and trumpet duet from New Orleans performing Christmas music.
