Resource Coordinator, Center for Family Care

Angie is the Resource Specialist for the Center for Family Care.  She has a Ph.D. in Special Education and a M.Ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Kent State University.  Angie conducted research to understand and develop Family Centered behaviors in early childhood education teachers.  She published the work titled, Understanding Family Involvement in the Preparation of Graduate Students: Creating Family-Centered Practitioners (2005) Family Involvement Network: Network of Educators (FINE), Harvard Family Research Project. Cambridge: MA.  Her professional employment history includes working as a rehabilitation counselor, program coordinator, early intervention coordinator, and college professor.  Angie is married to Harry Giallourakis and they have three sons, Phillip, Nicholas, and Steven.  She and her family are members of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Rocky River, Ohio.  Angie is active in parish life.  Currently she helps in the St. Demetrios Bookstore and assists with the Spiritual Life Committee.
