At the Luncheon Offered by the Greek-American Community

In Honor of His Excellency Kyriakos Mitsotakis

Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic

The Loeb Boathouse

New York, New York

September 21, 2022

Your Excellency, Mr. Prime Minister,

Dear Friends,

I know that I speak for everyone in this room, when I say that we are all so very pleased to have this opportunity to share the afternoon with you, especially in the very busy days of the United Nations General Assembly.

When you were here last May, Mr. Prime Minister, and addressed the Joint Session of Congress – an unprecedented honor, indeed, both for you and for Greece – we were all filled with much emotion and great pride.

For in a time of global uncertainty, you continue to demonstrate the leadership qualities that both Greece and the entire world need.

Therefore, let us commence our luncheon with a prayer – not only for the blessing of this moment, but for the peace and stability of our world altogether.

Let us bow our heads in prayer:

We give thanks to You, O Christ our God, that You have gathered us in fellowship to share in this meal – blessed by Your Spirit – and to hear from the Leader of the Government of the Hellenic Republic.

We ask for Your rich and bountiful blessings upon Prime Minister Mitsotakis, and upon all the noble People of Greece.

Grant unto them, O Lord, and unto all the world, Your everlasting peace, which surpasses all understanding, and fills every heart with tranquility and serenity;

That we may always dwell in freedom, with an abundance of all things needful for a satisfying and fulfilling life;

Always giving glory to You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
