NEW YORK – Under the High Patronage of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, and with the spiritual blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Savas of Pittsburgh, the Metropolis of Pittsburgh Philoptochos hosts the Fourteenth National Philoptochos Children’s Medical Fund Luncheon, “Let Us Rejoice and Embrace The Children,” Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Fairmont Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 11:00 am.

The Children’s Medical Fund has made a positive difference in the lives of children in the United States and throughout the world by donating over $2.5 Million to medical programs and facilities that offer care, treatment, innovative research and cures.

National Philoptochos President Aphrodite Skeadas and Rosemary Nikas, Luncheon Chairman, announce the following 2013 Children’s Medical Fund Luncheon Grant recipients:

Highlighting the luncheon as Guest Speaker is Dr. Georgette Constantinou, Ph.D., Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron Department of Pediatrics.  Dr. Constantinou is a dynamic speaker who has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and the Morning Exchange.  Mike Emanuel, Chief Congressional Correspondent FOX News, will serve as Master of Ceremonies and the Children’s Festival Chorus of Pittsburgh will offer a glorious musical performance. Special honors will be presented to Maria Skiadas, Chairman of the Thirteenth Children’s Medical Fund Luncheon and Helen Collis, the Arista Award Honoree.
