Archdiocese to Celebrate the Feast of the Three Hierarchs as the Day of Greek Letters

NEW YORK – The Office of Greek Education of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America will honor and celebrate the Feast of the Three Hierarchs as the Day of Greek Letters and as it has done in the past, will hold a series of events, Jan. 30-31 as follows:

9:00 a.m.
ARCHIERATICAL DIVINE LITURGY, at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 319 74th St., NΥC
Archbishop Demetrios of America will celebrate the Divine Liturgy for the teachers, students, parents and staff of the Archdiocese Greek American Day Schools.
Awards Ceremony for the students who excelled (perfect score of 100) in the New York State Regents Examination in Modern Greek, which is administered by the Archdiocese.
6:30 p.m.
A ceremony of the traditional VASSILOPITA cutting in honor of the teachers of our Schools will be held at the Undercroft Hall of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.

7:30 p.m.
“The Importance of the Three Hierarchs for Christian Education”
Protopresbyter George D. Dragas, Ph.D., D.D., D.Th., professor of Patristics at the Holy Cross School of Theology in Brookline, Mass. will present a lecture at the Cathedral Center.
