Over 150 members, spouses and participants attended the 7th Annual Leadership Conference in Palm Beach, FL from Feb.26-28. His Eminence Archbishop Spyridon speaking at the Grand Banquet commented, "I think it is a sign of our maturity, as a Church and as Christians, that we can share the ministry and the responsibility for the unity of our church, in a true spirit of sacrifice and generosity. I believe that this new era for Leadership 100, as a separately incorporated support organization of the Archdiocese, is a sign of our evolution and maturity. You, the members and Trustees of this perpetual endowment , are shouldering a tremendous burden for the sake of hundreds of thousands of faithful Greek Orthodox across our great country and Archdiocese."According to George Kokalis,Chairman, the Fund has now surpassed 34 million dollars and produces over $600,000 per year in distributable income. There are 304 members. To date, Leadership 100 has distributed over 3.5 million dollars to the National Ministries, including over $500,000 to GOTelcom; nearly all the money to establish the Internet Ministry (which receives over 250,000 "hits" per week and has over 14,000 pages on the World Wide Web site), and by the year 2004 will have given one million dollars to the Archbishop Iakovos Library at HC/HC. ------------------------------------------------------------Archives of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America's press releases are available online at: www.goarch.org/goa/press_releases
