Archbishop Spyridon Welcomes Romanian Bishop

New York, NY - His Eminence Archbishop Spyridon, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, welcomed His Grace Bishop Niphon of the Romanian Orthodox Church to the Archdiocese yesterday.
Bishop Niphon is the president of AIDROM (the ecumenical association of Christian churches in Romania). He was accompanied by Mr. Christian Teodorescu, Executive Director of AIDROM, and Mr. Paul Wilson of the Church World Service and Witness Unit of the National Council of Churches.
Having recently met with the International Orthodox Christian Charities in Baltimore, Bishop Niphron asked the blessings of Archbishop Spyridon for their social service programs in Romania. His Eminence assured Bishop Niphron that he would bring his concerns to next week's meeting of the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas (SCOBA).
