President of Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology Resigns

New York, NY - His Grace Bishop George of New Jersey, Archiepiscopal Vicar has announced the resignation of the Very Rev. Damaskinos V.Ganas as President of Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, MA, effective August 25th. Father Ganas has served as president since Sept. 14, 1998.
Immediately upon receiving the official letter of resignation, His Grace Bishop George spoke with His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios in Athens who accepted the resignation and offered the gratitude of the Church for the service of Father Ganas as a priest and most recently as president of Hellenic College/Holy Cross. His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios also announced that all academic procedures will be followed in the selection of the new president.
At his request, Father Ganas has been reassigned as pastor of his former parish of Kimisis Tis Theotokou in Brooklyn, NY.
