and Family was established to deal with issues relevant to these fundamental
institutions of vital importance for the Church and for society. The

OUTREACH AND EVANGELISM |
The Department of Outreach
& Evangelism has been established to renew and share
the Orthodox Christian Faith in America by nurturing a
deeper commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ within His
Church, by reaching out to inactive Orthodox Christians
and to the unchurched, by meeting the needs of those inquiring
about the Orthodox faith, and offering each community
the tools for parish renewal and for the establishment
of new parishes. |
| DEPARTMENT
OF PHILANTHROPY |
| The task of the Department of Philanthropy
is to further develop and coordinate the philanthropic
work of the Archdiocese of America. Working closely with
various community organizations, particularly the Ladies
Philoptochos Society, this Department coordinates the
philanthropic work of the Church on a national level wherever
the need arises. The Department of Philanthropy creates
an awareness of people with special needs so that our
community-the faithful within parishes and Church-affiliated
organizations-will reach out and embrace them. |
| DEPARTMENT
OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION |
| The purpose of the Department of Religious Education (DRE) is to serve the parishes and metropolises of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America by providing materials and services that will advance their programs of religious education. Greek Orthodox women of the Philoptochos Society across
the United States promotes the charitable, benevolent

lectures, seminars and other educational resources. They
voluntarily aid the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the
aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned,
the widowed, the handicapped, the victims of disasters,
to undertake the burial of impoverished persons and to
offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the
Church through special funds or solicitations on the local
level. |
| SAINT
BASIL ACADEMY |
| Saint Basil Academy is a residential
child care center, providing a home away from home for
the Church's least fortunate children. In most cases,
the children the Academy serves come from families who
have fallen on bad times because of a death, sickness,
financial reversal, or a dysfunctional family situation.
Each child's spiritual, physical, educational, emotional
and social needs are addressed in chapel, classroom and
recreation settings. |

who seek assisted living in a Greek Orthodox environment.
Applicants on SSI are accepted, and the Home, as a nonprofit
institution, depends on the generosity of its many friends
to be able to fulfill its-special mission. At Saint Michael
Home, every effort is made to maintain the physical and
intellectual integrity of the residents while encouraging
them to preserve their independence and dignity. |

(TCFS) is a not-for-profit, multi-service agency serving
the needs of children requiring out-of-home placement
through residential/treatment and foster family programs.
We have one mission: to help children heal who have been
damaged by abuse, neglect, or abandonment and return them
to society and family. The children can then begin to
reclaim their right to pursue successful and fulfilling
lives. |
| IOCC
- INTERNATIONAL ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN CHARITIES |
| The International Orthodox Christian
Charities mandate is to undertake purely humanitarian
activities. In an effort to bring assistance to the poor
and to mobilize all Orthodox Christians to its efforts,
IOCC has adopted a grassroots approach. Metropolitan Committees
have been established in cities throughout the United
States and Canada, where parishioners are offered the
chance to assist those in need and to engage their fellow
parishioners and local communities in support of humanitarian
assistance programs. |
| OCMC
- ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN MISSION CENTER |
The Orthodox
Christian Mission Center (OCMC) proclaims and practices
the evangelical imperative of the Orthodox faith based
