Greetings in the Lord!

On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, I thank you for your interest in the Youth Worker List Server. The Youth Worker List Server is made available through the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries. The mission of the Department is to minister to youth workers, young people and their families, enabling them to fully experience the Orthodox Faith, and to live a vital Orthodox Christian life.

Often times, we have the tendency to look at our young people as future members of the Church. As baptized Orthodox Christians, we know that young people, like adults, are full members of the Faith, and therefore, should be given the same rights and privileges as any member of the Church.

As youth workers, we are called to help young people become active sacramental members of the Church. This can be an overwhelming task – but this is a sacred task, a sacred responsibility. Through this Youth Worker List-Server, we hope to bring you practical ideas, resources and inspiration to assist you in your ministry.

With all of the list-servers and junk e-mail out there, we thought we would outline what you won’t get from us:

• You will never get more than 2 e-mails a week (and more than likely you won’t get that many).
• We will never share our list server addresses with any other groups
• You will not get forwards & graphics as we don’t want to clog up your e-mail.

It is our hope that this List-Server will become a source of inspiration in your ministry, as well as an invaluable tool which will assist you. We hope to create a network of caring individuals to help bring our young people closer to our Lord’s Kingdom.
