The Royal Road:
A Journey Through Great Lent
An Interactive Multimedia CD-ROM
About This CD-ROM
The first interactive multimedia CD-ROM produced by the Department of Religious Education is entitled The Royal Road: A Journey Through Great Lent. Released in January 2000, this program is a useful tool for teaching Orthodox and non-Orthodox alike the rich traditions of Lent and preparations for Pascha according to the ancient apostolic Orthodox faith, and how these traditions are observed today in a typical Orthodox parish.
The content and structure are useful for a church-school setting as well as an individual or family desiring to learn more about the wonderful tradition of lent.
The authors of this program pray that this tool will go beyond mere facts and explanations, to motivate and equip the user to participate more deeply in the arduous Lenten Journey that leads to the joy of our Saviour's resurrection. After all, we are fellow pilgrims on "The Royal Road."
