Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Orthodox Youth Worker Training?
The Orthodox Youth Worker Training is available from the Department
of Youth and Young Adult Ministries for the youth workers of the
Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. It has been developed to
assist the parish youth worker/advisor with the tools necessary
to better minister to our young people. With this program, our purpose
is to provide training which will communicate the teachings and
Traditions of the holy Orthodox Faith. Utilizing scriptural, patristic
and theological principles, this training will enable the youth
worker to more effectively address the current needs of youth in
today’s culture.
What Will I Receive?
You will receive a hand-out which will help you follow the materials
presented, as well as a complete list of Orthodox and non-Orthodox
youth ministry resources. You will have the opportunity to share
common issues that are found when working with young people, learn
great ideas and discover new resources and training tools. Most
especially, you will begin the process of effectively ministering
to youth.
Who Should Attend the Orthodox Youth Worker Training?
Anyone who is interested in working with young people should attend
this training. Clergy, teachers, youth workers/advisors, etc., will
benefit from this program.
