FELLOWSHIP

If you love your neighbor, then all heaven will love you; if you are united in spirit to your fellow creatures then you will be united with God and all the company of heaven. – St. John Kronstadt

Everyday, we encounter people in fellowship. We gather together as a family, as friends, and as an Orthodox Church community. Christians are called to love all as Christ loves. True Christian fellowship is mindful of this—remembering that Christ lives in each and every one of us. We are first united to Christ through the sacrament of Baptism and continue to grow in Him through the other Sacraments of His Church.

Ways to build on fellowship

  • Learn more about the Sacraments of the Church and how they unite us to Christ and to one another. Especially make time as a family to learn how to properly prepare for Holy Communion (through prayers, fasting, and confession).

  • Attend the various services of the Church and be actively involved in the life of the Church. Make Church activities a priority in the life of your family. Plan or attend a family night at your Church.

  • Make your home a home of hospitality for all people. Open it to your children’s friends—both Orthodox and non-Orthodox. Always let Christian love guide your interactions in and outside your home.
