First Family Mission Team Returns From Albania

Garrison, New York - “...If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14:23) This past July, a unique groundbreaking international Orthodox Christian missionary effort took place—the first Family Mission Team traveled to Albania. The team was a collaboration between the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Center for Family Care (CFC) and the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC), and part of a new family ministry initiative of the Orthodox Church of Albania. Families from America and Albania participated in “One Family in Christ” Family Camp led by the CFC’s Resource Coordinator, Panayiotis Sakellariou, and by OCMC short and long term missionaries. Click here to read more

First Family Mission Team to Travel To Albania

Garrison, New York – “Let them do good, that they may be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share…“ (1 Timothy 6:18) This summer, from July 17-29, the first Family Mission Team will travel to Albania. This Team is a collaboration between the Center for Family Care (CFC) and Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC), and part of a new family ministry initiative of the Orthodox Church of Albania. Families from North America along with Albanian families will participate in this ministry led by our staff and assisted by OCMC missionaries and Albanian church leaders. New Study on the Orthodox Family in America

Garrison, New York - The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Center for Family Care has just completed its first study: The Orthodox Family in America at Home and in Church. This study is a first step toward a better understanding of how our Church ministers to the particular needs of families and how Orthodox families in America organize their everyday lives with regard to living their faith. In brief, this study gathered information from 646 parishioners surveyed who had children 18 and under living at home. Click here to read more

"Year of the Family" to be Observed in 2005 by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America

New York, NY - His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, has announced on behalf of the Holy Eparchial Synod that 2005 will be observed as the "Year of the Family." This national campaign, which will include programs, activities, and resources for all levels of the Church in America, was officially launched at the 37th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress held in New York City, July 25-30, 2004. Click here to read more
