Dear Sister Presvyteres:
Plans are under way for the 33rd
Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress scheduled to take place June 30 through
July 4, 1996 in New York City.
This Clergy-Laity will be like no other. The Clergy-Laity is going to
be an emotional gathering for all of us. As you know, we will be
experiencing the imminent retirement of His Eminence Archbishop lakovos
who, for many of us, is the only Arch bishop we have ever known. His
accomplishments are a source of inspiration and this will be a
wonderful opportunity to let him know how appreciative we are of his
ministry.
We hope that all of you will be able to come together for this historic
Congress. The goal of the Clergy-Laity Congress Steering Committee is
to do every thing possible to encourage your participation. Our
Chairpersons, Presvyteres Paula Strouzas and Anastasia Palesty, are
working hard to make the National Sisterhood of Presvyteres program
inspirational and informative. Your attendance and participation
insures this Congress will be just that!
